Following a loss to league leaders last week, Veseyans were looking to bounce back to winning ways immediately which they did in emphatic style with a 12 try demolition of Willenhall. V's choose to play into the wind and uphill in the first half and soon got on the score sheet when Dan Lock broke through the Willenhall defence to score under the posts, converted by Gillick. This was followed by three further tries for Lewis Gaffney, Max Powell on his 1xv debut and Will Slattery ensuring the try bonus point was secured before half time.
As expected though with the elements in their favour Willenhall had a period of play in the V's 22 which eventually resulted in a try in the corner. This left the half time score 24-5. The second half though was one-way traffic with the V's adding a further eight tries with Will Slattery, Daz Paskowski, Matt Gillick, Dan Lock second try, a brace for Courtney Cummings and a further 3 tries from Lewis Gaffney all being on the score sheet. Matt Gillick converted 6 of them leaving a final score of 76-5.
V's are back in league action next week with the re-arranged away tie at Telford.
