An outstanding performance by Veseyans U13 saw them overcome a Woodrush side, that had previously beaten them twice earlier in the season, by 10 tries to 4. The visitors were unable to cope with the power of the Veseyans pack and the pace which they possessed out wide. Vese soaked up lots of early pressure and eventually were able to turn the ball over and feed Harry Taylor to score the first of his two tries from 60 yards out, beating two men in the process.
Veseyans second try came in a similar manner which allowed Jun Park to exploit the space out wide and finish nicely in the corner. The hosts continued to dominate proceedings and scored 3 more tries before the break through Ollie Smith, who powered over from close range and a Zak Hussein break from inside his own 22.
A further try from Zak Hussein, again from well inside his own half, gave Vese a commanding 5-1 half time lead. The visitors came back in the game in the early stages of the second half, exploiting the space in behind the Veseryans back line to score two exceptional tries. However, Veseyans regained control after a turnover on their own line for Ollie Cattell to score from under his own posts, beating four men, including one outrageous show and go dummy.
A powerful finish from Joe Taroni effectively ended the contest taking the score to 8-4 to the Vese before late tries from Zak Hussein and Ollie Cattell gave the score line the comfort that the Veseyans performance deserved. Overall, a brilliant performance from the lads, that scarily still has plenty of room for improvement.
