On a warm and Sunny morning Veyseans U10’s turned up ready to play some rugby in what was always going to be a tough ask with 5 matches planned and only 8 players. Undeterred, they took to the field for their first game and put in an excellent performance against a very well organised Camp Hill side. That soon followed with matches against Sutton and Bournville where the organisation and handling skills of these teams took their toll on a very committed but tiring team………it was time for some refreshments and energising of tired legs.

After their short break they retook the field to play against Worcester and produced and excellent performance showing real grit and determination and stayed in the game right until the final minute. Unfortunately, their final game came after a very short turnaround which, with them already played 50 mins of rugby we thought would be a problem, but they managed to produce there best performance of the tournament. They had to play the full 12 mins up the slope but tackled, rucked, mauled and showed handling skills they hadn’t shown all day to get a positive result against a very strong Sutton side……..just reward for all the effort and hard work they had shown throughout the day.

Once again there were excellent performance from Luca in the rucks and breakdown, Malika with her covering tackles, Euan leading from the front with his determination to get over the line, Ben showing his gas to beat everyone on the outside, but player of the day, for his tackling, try scoring and never say die attitude was Zak. Medals awarded, photos taken and 8 young players who everyone was really proud off left and excellent tournament for a well deserved rest………..well done everyone!
