On a warm and dry morning the conditions were perfect for open running rugby and both teams didn’t disappoint. Veseyans arrived with a full team plus 2 substitutions and over the course of 3 games their performance steadily improved.

The first game was very competitive for the 1st half with neither side giving anything at the breakdown or in defence. However, the second half down the slope the Sutton team started to find the space outside and good recycling of the ball and thier ability to move it wide through the hands resulted in some excellent tries.

Undeterred, the U10s came out for the second game full of promise and attacked well without reward but by now Sutton had become really dominant at the breakdown and controlled the game resulting in several very well taken individual and team tries. Finally, Veseyans got their breakdown skills up and running and scored 3 excellent tries in the final game which was just reward for the effort and determination showed.

Again there were several good performances from Luca, Malika, Dougie and Josh but the player of the day for his all round performance and leadership when captain went to Max.

With the U10s improving week on week the team looks forward to coming back to the same venue in a couple of weeks time for the annual Sutton Tournament
