Vesey Rugby history was made yesterday in a thrilling encounter in the U15 NatWest Vase.

New Hall School, Chelmsford, were clear favourites with 14 wins out of 15 games this year and a points difference of over 500! They were fielding an England U15 centre who cruised through in the first half and helped to establish a 15-0 advantage at half-time. It looked like the flood gates would open and we looked set for a dismal second half! Not so……what they said at half-time clearly worked!

New Hall, having mentally won the game, were stunned by the Vesey doggedness! True grit and determination triumphed over complacent poise! Final score 19-15 to Vesey with no second half score from New Hall!

Next game is the Semi Final at Saracens on 6 March. Opponents and time tbc.

Just one win away from Twickenham on 16 March! Can the dream come true?

Great joy in the Vesey camp and a game that those boys, their coaches and supporters will never forget!
