A very frustrating game but a win all the same.  With a big squad now the future looks good for the club particularly with some young players now putting in some good performances which are being recognised and backed up with 1st team exposure.  Notably Will Cheneler who scored two well taken tries and ran strongly from full back.

Scrum half and Captain Dan Hemming also played an outstanding game and executed some exceptional box kicks which often caught the opposition’s defence out.  One such kick led to the first score by Anthony Orme after a committed line chase and his pace did the rest.

Veseyans made some poor decisions and  made a number of mistakes which Aston took advantage of and this kept them in the game with two well taken tries and both were converted.

In the last quarter Veseyans should of put the game well out of reach of their local counterparts but with some poor handling many opportunities went astray.

Eventually, a period of concerted pressure in the Aston 22 utility player Alex Godson forced his way over for the all important bonus point try and secure a well earned victory.

Next week Veseyans Colts travel up to Telford for what must be a must win game to keep this development and momentum going.
