Super 2’s strike again.

Saturday saw Veseayans 2’s host Five Ways. Veseyans continued their recent strong league
performances right from the off. Good recycling of the ball allowed Tom Greenwood to run in from distance to score and convert within the first five minutes. Soon after Shaq received a well-timed offload and scored in the corner. V’s were using the slope and wind well and quickly ran in two further try’s coutesy of Adam Spinner and Jack Clayton. Ill-discipline allowed five ways to threaten the Vs try line briefly but resolute defensive work kept the score to nil. Further try’s from Greenwood, Clayton and an excellent running line from Jordan Reader allowed the score to increase to 39 -0 at the break.

The second half began in much the same fashion as the first, allowing further
scores from Greenwood and Spinner with N Willy also getting his name on the score sheet. Ben
Tatlow showed good strength and determination by stealing the ball from a maul and running in an impressive solo try from the 10m line. There was still time for a further try from John Fellows beforeSpinner completed his hatric following tidy hands immediately from a restart. The only negative was allowing Five Ways on the score sheet midway through the second half. This week see’s V’s take on fellow table topping Woodrush Rfc which will surely decide who takes the crown of Merit league champions.
