Yardley and District came to the Memorial Ground for this Merit League clash, with a reduced number of players, but as the Home side had a full bench some of the team put their hands up to play for the opposition, so a full match could take place.A special mention goes to Nick Pitt, Tom Farrelly, Jacob Tatlow and Ollie Bradley
A very one sided encounter occurred in what can be described as Sunny, but very cold and blustery conditions. The writing was on the wall early as Nathan Spinner and Jon Hipkiss both crossed for early scores on their return from injuries. The V’s Scrum was totally dominant thought the first half led up front by Nick Murch and “Sully” Sullivan again, both making their long awaited returns from injury, this lead to more pressure and gave a very impressive back line the freedom of the park for the afternoon.
The home side dominated the match, with hat-tricks from Full Back Adam Titchen and veteran Wing Tony Hayes, Jon Hipkiss doubled up and went over the line for two and fly half Owain Luckwell also crossed the whitewash, other scorers included Reyarn Thorpe ,jack Clayton and many, many more.
