Harborne playing down the slope started the quicker in this one, with a smart break from the Scrum Half sending one of the outside backs over in the corner for an unconverted try, but followed this up with a kicked penalty to take an early 8 to nil lead. The V’s, playing up the hill and against the wind forced there way back into the game and some smart play from fly half Rob Cooper forced the away side back into the corner where they conceded a penalty, Veteran Tight Head prop Tony Hayes spotted the opportunity for a quick tap and forced his way over for an unconverted try. The two teams then traded penalties, before the away side made a period of pressure in the home 22 pay with another short range try, followed quickly by another score. The V’s ended the half with another score to turn around a couple of scores behind.

The V’s started brightly in the second half forcing Harborne back, but some stout defence from the away side held them back, Harborne now playing against the conditions forced their way back into the game and again a smart break from the Scrum Half lead to another score. The game then deteriorated as the weather closed in and the pitch cut up leading to one midfield scrum after another, Harborne again lead by the scrum half broke again for another score which was converted off the post to pretty much seal the game. The V’s had the final say, with a perfect line out move executed, Fly Half Cooper dummied in the midfield to go through a gap and put Winger LukeWeideman into the corner for a try on his debut to complete the scoring.
