Veseyans marked a return to league action by taking on second in the league Church Stretton. After a strong start in which Veseyans mounted continuous attacks on the opposition line. From a consequential penalty Olly took quickly and jinked through to give the home side the lead. However, shortly after the restart a combination of poor tackling and strong running saw Church Stretton gain the initiative 7-5.

Veseyans refused to be disheveled by this and asserted their dominance as pressure told with Ben crashing over from a tap penalty. Half time score; 12-7 to Veseyans.

Church Stretton came out fighting for the second half. This resulted in them once more gaining a try (this time unconverted) as. Veseyans once more showed strong character to bounce back from going behind, through good lines and intelligent offloads, Connor spotted a gap to charge over the line for a seven point score.

Veseyans once more though failed to build on a lead. Despite heroic defending on their own line following multiple phases, Church Stretton spread the ball wide and following an overlap scored in the corner to level to scores at 17-17. There was to be a twist in the tale. In the last play of the game an inventive offload from Olly set Courtney away down the wing. After beating two players, he passed to Jordan to run unopposed to secure the win for the home side. Final score; 22-17 to Veseyans.
