A very disappointing result for Veseyans in what was a game they had clearly targeted to get something from. In a very young side fielding four players from the Colts these young lads performed well.

Against a much bigger and much older Stafford side Veseyans struggled in wet and muddy conditions which very much suited the home side.

Stafford were the first to score with a try in the corner following a long period of pressure inside the Veseyans half. The V’s had there chance to reduce the deficit but the try was disallowed as the referee decided to bring play back for a knock-on by Stafford instead of playing advantage.

Stafford played the conditions better and Veseyans struggled to introduce their pace into the game. Veseyans fell further behind in the 2nd half with two further tries and a conversion.

This week Veseyans are at home in a re-arranged league game against Kidderminster Carolians RFC with an early kick-off.
