The under 8’s travelled to Old Yardlians festival in strong numbers on a glorious day for their first matches of the season.

First up was Camp Hill B, after a shaky start the V’s found their feet and pushed through to the try line to make their mark. The strong V’s travelling numbers meant fresh legs were in abundance and they were put to good use in a flurry of games with Old Yards up next swiftly followed by Stourbridge A, Camp Hill A, Stourbridge B and Keresley.

A massive effort from all provided some tense moments and good  entertainment with some great skills displayed, experience from last season showed with Harriet running tirelessly from one end of the pitch to the other, James tackling all in his way, Alex running the wing, Ella linking play across the pitch and Luke putting in a solid performance. David recovered from being ill earlier in the week to make an appearance while a number of new players made their debut with Paulo and family catching a bus, two trains, and a taxi to be there.

A great start to the season, the developing teamwork and skill is great to see and makes your coaches very proud.
