This was to be the 3rd meeting between these two sides, V’s won the 1st meeting in the league at home earlier this season and Kiddy won the 2nd meeting in the National Colts Cup game.

The honours on this occasion went to Kiddy after a very committed performance by the V’s. The side was missing a number of senior players some in key positions which meant two forwards were playing in the centre.

The game itself started well but was filled with endless handling mistakes which led to easy scores for Kiddy. Poor decision making also gave easy possession to the home side who then punished Veseyans.

The positives in the game was very much to do with the high level of commitment and work rate. The tackling was very good as was the teams work rate but time and time again this was accompanied with handling mistakes.

Veseyans two scores came from Tom Powell a No8 playing in the centre who ran hard and was very physical when driving for the line to score.

The V’s scrum was dominant taking a number of scrums against the head but at times the accuracy at the lineout again cost them dearly.

V’s with a weekend off next week but need to look towards playing some postponed games against either Dudley Kings or Ledbury so attendance at training will be vital in preparation.
