Harborne started the stronger in the game playing downhill in the first half but the V’s defence held firm and they grew into the came. Steve Johnson scored the first try for the away side following a slick lineout and drive over the line. The second try was not long in coming when good handling inside their own half sent winger Tony Hayes away to beat his opposite number and go over under the posts.
Debutant Jake Haden-White then buldozed his way over for another score. Harborne rallied before the half with two late tries. V’s now playing down the slope didn’t give their opponents much of a look in in the 2nd Half with forwards Lewis Graham and Jak Ryan both running in scores and the V’s try scoring was completed when Tony Hayes got on the end of a move my forwards Nick Murch and Rolo Rawlinson to go over in the corner for his second try.
Centre Tom Greenwood added 5 conversions. Credit to Harborne who did not give up and got a late consolation score with the last play of the game. Next Fixture home to Birmingham Wyvern on 20th September.
