The Veseyans started strongly in this home Midlands Reserve League encounter, almost straight from the opening Kick Off the away side infringed, Skipper Tony Hayes took a quick tap penalty, recycled the ball to the backs who through some slick passing sent youngster Sam Brown over in the corner for his first senior try.
DK cam back into the game following a try from a driving maul at a line out. The V’s retook the lead, when fly half James Mason sent a pin point cross field kick towards the left wing where another former colt Callum Chapman gathered on the bounce, beat three players to go over under the posts.
Back came DK again and following another driving maul went over again. This spurred the home side into further action and following some pressure from a line out Veteran Prop Nick Murch pounced on a loose ball to go over under the posts to make the Half Time score 17 – 10.
The V’s now playing with the conditions pressed home their advantage in the second half, following a strong scrum, bolstered by debutant Prop Andy Payne, back rower Adam Longton crashed over from short range for his first try for the club.
Another Scrum close to the line resulted in Second Row Lewis Gaffney showing some incredible strength by carrying three opposition players with him over the line.
Dan Hemming crossed for the final try of the game going over from close range following a quickly taken tap penalty.
Full Back Jon Fellows also added 3 conversions making the final score 41 – 10.
