Veseyans 2nd XV recent run of good form continued with a fine 55 – 0 win away from home against Birmingham Barbarians, including two Club Debuts for Jake “Jam” Smith and Jas Saini.
Lewis Gaffney continued his excellent scoring form by taking the opening kick off back 80 metres for the opening try.
V’s back made a break, with veteran Full Back Tony Hayes being taken into touch just short of the line. From the ensuing Line Out Prop Alex Godson smashed his way over from short range.
Number 9 Gaffney, Scrum Half Dan Hemming and Fly Half Mark Edwards added further scores in what became a dominant performance for the away side to go in at the break 31 points to nil up.
The second half continued in the same vain, with Back Rower Gaffney added a further three two tries to his name, Dan Hemming got end the end of an almost 15 man full length of the pitch move for the try of the game, which was then finished off when Godson added his second score finishing off a fine backs out on the wing where all good props should be. Mark Edwards also added 5 conversions.
Perhaps the most impressive thing in the whole performance was for the second half of the match, there were eight of the current crop of colts on the pitch, George Baines, Alex Godson, Josh Raby-Gordon, Dan Hemming. Ryan Prestridge, Tom Powell, Callum Chapman and Jake Smith all putting in great performances and showing that the future of the club is really bright.
